As much as I advocate for the unemployed I do know that many people fill their days and hours with unproductive thoughts. It is said that if you want to get a cold get around someone with a cold. Unfortunately, the ranks of the unemployed do not always inspire potent, productive dialogue. There are a lot of sources and people that do. But I recommend to my clients to focus on getting around employed people, especially those who are in positions to hire. It's tough to focus on the positive when you feel you are in a negative situation. But do so. Make sure you are doing and saying all that you can to the positive. And if you get around someone or information that is negative, turn it around. People are attracted to a positive, forward looking person who does not dwell on temporarily negative circumstances.
